Bragaspathi also mean ”Purohit or Vadyar”.The word “Purohit” means who does good thinks for the well being of his shishyas.Hence thew ”Barhaspathyam” or Purohitham” is considered a very noble one. All worship the Bragaspathi or Vadyar Swamis, as they are the one who guides to all to perform the Vedic Karma. The basic of ”Hindu Dharma” is Sruthi and Smirthi, Sruthi being Vedas, Smirthi being the Dharma Shastra. The Dharma Shastra says that by birth alone, the Brahmins are not considered a Brahmin.Only by following the karma yoga, Varnashrama Dharma they are called Brahmins. It also says that a Brahmin who fails to perform his karma is considered to be at par with the: Chandala”.In the BhaghavedGita also Lord Krishna says: Sarva Dharman Parithjathya…”Do your duty assigned to you and leave its fruits to me”.Hence it is foremost to perform our daily routine and follow the Vedic rituals.
Swami Desikan in his Rahasya trayasara says,”Even the Almighty does not know how to repay the debt to a Acharya, one who lights a divine lamp in our heart and removes darkness”.
